We gather to honor the life and legacy of Late Chief Ozo Chiedu Idezuna, fondly known as Ezemuo Afrika, a renowned tourism mogul and the convener of the Ekoonibaje New Yam & Beach Festival. His final rites commenced with a Lagos Day of Tribute on November 30, 2024, held at the Ekoonibaje Kingdom, Elesekan, near Area J Police Headquarters, Lekki-Epe Expressway, in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.

The tribute event witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries, associates, friends, and family members, all united in celebrating the remarkable life of Chief Idezuna.

Ezemuo Afrika was an exceptional leader whose life was dedicated to fostering peace and unity among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic and socio-cultural communities. Through his passion for art and his unique vision, he elevated the symbolic significance of the yam as a unifying emblem for national cohesion. His profound contributions to cultural heritage and his unyielding efforts in promoting harmony will remain a timeless inspiration.
