Castledown Arts Center is the organizers of the EKO NEW YAM FESTIVAL an event celebrated in the heart of Ibeju-Lekk Lagos State, Nigeria
For two decades, the event has consistently celebrated Africa’s cultural heritage. Over the years.
This festival has metamorphosed into a cultural melting pot of all tribal nationalities living in Lagos, with enthusiasts, musicians, and tourists across the globe visiting and celebrating with us every year.
We desire to keep developing and promoting Domestic Tourism potential in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Lagos State. In furtherance of our most popular objective of encouraging peaceful coexistence among all ethnic and religious groups in Lagos state through Art, Culture, Agro – initiatives, Sport, Music, and Tourism.
The EKO NEW YAM FESTIVAL provides a heritage of cultural Dances, Feasting, Beauty Pageant, and Renewal of Kinship Alliances, Grassroots Empowerment Initiatives, Cultural Games, Traditional Wrestling including Grassroots Football Tournaments. The festival also marks the end of one agricultural season with a harvest to express gratitude and thanksgiving to God, the Community, friends, and relations. It is an event that brings us together as one.
It is with these convictions that we write to formally invite Africans in the diaspora, and tourist enthusiasts to the 14th edition of this great festival.
The Theme for this year’s edition is “Tourism a Veritable Tool for National Unity.” The festival which is billed to start on the 27th of September (World Tourism Day) and end on the 1st of October, 2022 is expecting over ten thousand visitors, tourists, art enthusiasts, and fun lovers to Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State. This year’s festival is going to be extraordinary in so many ways. We have concluded an arrangement with an international skill acquisition center here in Lagos, to enroll at least 50 youths from our constituency for high-paying technical skills, which come with an internationally recognized certification.
There are several areas where we believe you can assist us to ensure we achieve the objectives of this event. Hence, we look forward to having our amiable and outstanding governor during the event.

Programs of the event include Trade Expo, Business Promotion, Art Exhibitions, Presentations, Children Activities, Education and Entertainment, and and the ongoing Grassroots Football Tournament “IGBEGA IPINLE EKO CUP”
